Security Assessment Service

Washington, DC: May 21, 2012 – Safe Frontier announced today a new Security Assessment service that helps organizations to identify and mitigate security risks associated with use of mobile applications. The Service is designed to give companies better understanding of the application security quality and offers standardized metrics to help them make informed decisions regarding their security and privacy. Organizations that deploy third-party mobile applications without prior security assessment are particularly vulnerable. Even legitimate mobile apps are known to disseminate private information or be vulnerable for exploits. Security Assessment performed by Safe Frontier is not just a vulnerability scan. It involves dynamic, static and forensic analysis with manual and automated processes. The advanced methodology developed by Safe Frontier and sophisticated testing platforms allow the Company to perform deeper and better structured assessments without inflicting high costs. There are two main areas of evaluation: Vulnerability – examination for potential flaws, weakness, and exposures that may lead to a failure of confidentiality, integrity or availability; and Malicious Functionality – examination for unwanted and dangerous behavior, such as: dissemination of sensitive information, unauthorized network connectivity, unauthorized access to paid-for resources, etc. All vulnerabilities assessed are divided into the standardized risk categories based on the Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) Top 10 Mobile Risks list; and each category is further classified under the Common Weakness Enumeration (CWE) system. Safe Frontier utilizes Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) that allows organizations to easily apply the received metrics within their specific context. Safe Frontier also offers app certification program. Applications that meet or exceed the certification criteria receive a certificate of compliance. Safe Frontier performs security assessment of mobile applications for variety of industries, including financial services and healthcare. Businesses and agencies looking to improve their compliance and security, as well as application developers, publishers and resellers that want to provide additional level of safety assurance to their clients, can now all benefit from the new application Security Assessment service offered by Safe Frontier. Application Security service will be available early this summer. Pricing varies depending on the application size and complexity. A free evaluation is available. For more information please see
