When your private or company laptop goes missing, along with it goes your personal and business information. If this happens, it is imperative to act immediately and to be able not only to completely erase all your sensitive data but also to obtain legally acceptable proof that it has been successfully erased and has not gotten in to the wrong hands. Laptops often contain sensitive and private information such as, customer data, bank accounts, personal or medical records, etc. Computer theftcan expose you or you company to many dangers, including identity theft, loss of trust from your customers, and possibly serious legal implications. Loss of sensitive data can be financially devastating and can cost you millions. Fortunately, True Security™ Mobile provides effective protection against these threats allowing you to remotely access your computer and delete any files you want, including the entire operating system, rendering computer unusable. You can remotely select files that you'd like to delete on a missing computer and as soon as it connects to the internet these files will be erased. You will receive confirmation specifying file name, when it was erased, and confirmation of successful process completion. You can choose to delete files by name, location and even type. It is convenient, simple, and very effective. At the end of a computer lifecycle or lease you can also remotely wipe clean the entire hard drive to make sure that there is no information left before the computer is returned or retired.

Stolen computers almost always connect to the internet in just a matter of days but what happens if your computer doesn't? Can information still be deleted before the thief can gain access to it? The answer is yes! True Security™ Mobile provides a very effective control mechanism that will protect your information even under these circumstances. You can activate from your account a "no connect" data delete feature and remotely set a password that the user will need to enter if computer does not connect to the internet. Before the computer will fully start, the user will have to enter this password. Otherwise, the files you have specified in your account will be immediately deleted. You can also set a "no activity" option that allows you to automatically delete any information if the monitored computer has not connected to the internet in the preset number of days. You can always remotely change any parameters you want simply by logging into your account. Once the delete process is activated, it cannot be stopped or reversed, even if the computer is powered off. As soon as the power is on again, the process will resume until all the information is completely wiped out.
True Security™ Mobile uses the same technology that the US Department of Defense uses to ensure that their data is deleted beyond any possible recovery. The information is erased according to the United States Department of Defense (DoD) deletion standard DOD 5220.22-M. It cannot be recovered even with the most advanced forensic recovery techniques.
DOD 5220.22-M is a United States Department of Defense specification for disk storage sanitization (http://www.dtic.mil/whs/directives/corres/html/522022m.htm). It guarantees that all data previously contained on that magnetic media is permanently erased. When you normally delete a file, the computer does not actually remove the contents of the file but rather simply unlinks the file from the file directory system, leaving the contents of the file in the disk sectors and marking them as "free space". This data remains there until the operating system writes new data into these sectors. Until the old data is overwritten, it can be recovered by forensic software that reads disk sectors directly. And even if a sector is overwritten, the residual physical representation of the data that has been erased can still make it forensically recoverable. In order to ensure that deleted files can not be recovered, it is necessary to overwrite the data sectors carefully following a special process. This is not simply "erasing" or "reformatting" the drives, as there are numerous tools available to recover "lost" data on disk drives. This process requires that every location on a magnetic media device is rewritten three individual times, first by writing a fixed value (0x00), then its complement value (0xFF), and then random values. This will assure that under no circumstances will your information once it is erased, be recovered by a thief and possibly compromised.
